Architectural precision applied to every pixel and paragraph

Why it works

Generous breathing room and a sophisticated grid mirror the studio physical design philosophy. Large carefully curated photography dominates sections with space around text, creating a sense of scale and importance. Clean sans-serif typography guides visitors through philosophy and work without competing with the imagery.

Who should look at this

Service-based founders selling deep expertise who want to demonstrate authority through restraint rather than noise.

Signature technique

A hero image carousel with minimal navigation — let photography carry the narrative while text acts as supporting context, never the lead performer.

How the page is built

  1. Minimal header. A wordmark with a small logo sits top-left, with a search icon and a menu icon on the right that opens to Work, Practice, People, News, Perspectives, Careers and Contact.
  2. Initials cut through a video. Giant white block shapes, drawn from the studio's initials, cut through a warm, dim video of a lounge interior, so the logo itself becomes the hero image.
  3. Everything is possible with.... A huge light-weight slogan is followed by the word 'with' and a rotating set of single words, such as collective, culture, consciousness, conversations, wisdom, action and ambition.
  4. Project carousel. Seventeen slides cycle through projects under the line 'Architecture is not what we make. It's what we make possible', with a link to view them all.
  5. Nothing great is made alone. A short statement about partnership over process leads into a 'Meet the team' link, putting people before buildings.
  6. Architecture at the intersection. A paragraph on designing where culture, sustainability and technology meet is followed by an 'Our approach' link.
  7. News and newsletter. Four updates, an award, a new archive building, an interview and a carbon-reduction guide, sit above a 'Good news in your inbox' subscribe line.

Look and feel

Stark white and black with enormous light-weight lettering, and one dark amber video as the only image on the first screen. It is a type-led, restrained page where the letters are the decoration.

Where it might not fit

The opening is a slogan, an abstract graphic and animated single words, so a visitor has to scroll to learn that this is a firm that designs buildings. The giant rotating words also take time to read.

What to borrow

  • Use a fixed lead-in, such as 'Everything is possible with', and then rotate single words after it, so one sentence carries seven values.
  • Turn your initials into a giant graphic mask over a video, so the logo itself becomes the hero image.
  • End with recent news, a link to your thinking and a 'good news in your inbox' sign-up line, so returning visitors always have something new.

Brief your developer

“I want a white page with our initials as giant white blocks cutting through a moody video, one large light-weight slogan, a list of values that rotates after the word 'with', and a sideways carousel of recent projects below.”

How can a firm turn its values into something memorable?

Warren and Mahoney writes 'Everything is possible with' and then cycles through single words in giant type: collective, culture, consciousness, conversations, wisdom, action and ambition. One repeating sentence carries all seven values without a paragraph. Use a fixed lead-in and a short list of words you can really stand behind.

What can a design studio put below its hero to keep visitors reading?

The page moves from a slogan to a project carousel, a team link, an explanation of working where culture, sustainability and technology meet, and then news of awards, a carbon guide and an interview. The mix shows the work, the people and the thinking in turn. Alternate showing the work with showing the thinking.
